Howdy, I’m Aliah

Born in the Northeast and shaped by the West.

Growing up in Maine and later moving across the western U.S., rivers and mountains have always been part of my rhythm—and photography became the way I stay grounded in it all. It keeps me connected—to people, and to place.

I hold an undergraduate degree in psychology and adventure education, and a master’s in leadership and counseling in outdoor education. That foundation helps me create a supportive space where people feel seen, comfortable, and free to be themselves. Life pulls me in a lot of directions, but photography is the thread that always stays woven in.

My work is for everybody and every kind of love. Everyone deserves to feel seen and celebrated.

I keep things simple and honest—no extravagant setups or over-posed moments. Just you, in your element, as you are. I work with natural light, and real connection. My goal is to create images that feel true and grounded—not perfect, but personal.

Whether we're hiking or just stepping outside your front door, I focus on capturing what’s actually there: the ease, the connection, and the moments that often go unnoticed but mean the most.

I'm based in Nevada City, California,

but travel is a big part of my life and work. I regularly shoot across the West and Northeast-so if our paths align, let’s make it happen!
